Isabel Misquitta-Yip

Isabel Misquitta-Yip is currently a student in the Bachelor of Education program at York
University, having recently completed her bachelor’s degree in music in the studio of Katherine
Dowling. She has studied with acclaimed Canadian concert pianists Michael Berkovsky, Andre
Laplante, and Christina Petrowska-Quilico. She has been a featured young artist in concerts at
the Orford Music Festival, Tuckamore Music Festival, the Brampton Chamber Music Concert
Series, and the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association music festival. She is a recipient
of the Ron Weinberg Memorial Scholarship, The Spedding Memorial Scholarship, Thomas W.
Doherty Prize, and the Nancy Scoular Underhill Piano Award, and is the youngest two-time
recipient of the Gold Medal from the Royal Conservatory of Music for having twice achieved the
highest exam marks in all of Ontario and Quebec. Isabel has also appeared as a soloist with
notable Canadian ensembles such as the York University Symphony Orchestra, the Rouge River
Winds, the York Region Symphony Orchestra, and the Milton Philharmonic.
In addition to her solo appearances, Isabel is an active chamber musician and is regularly
featured in various concerts in the Toronto area. A passionate advocate for artistic outreach,
Isabel founded the Dynamic Centre for Education, a charity with a mission to provide
educational opportunities in the creative arts for youth in marginalized communities. She has
co-created music education programs for students across Canada, Cambodia, and the Philippines.
Through the Dynamic Centre for Education, Isabel developed a series of fundraiser concerts
called “The Stories We Keep”, centralizing the music of underrepresented composers in the
classical and chamber music repertoire while raising funds to support arts education programs
for Canadian youth.

Theadora Koski – Fifteen-year-old Theadora Koski of Severn, Ontario, began piano studies at the age of five under the direction of Cheryl Graham.  She has been the recipient of multiple first place awards and scholarships across Ontario, including the Young Artist Trophy of the CCC Toronto International Music Festival, first place at OMFA 2023 and the National Gold Medal of the Royal Conservatory of Music.  Theadora has been performing locally and across Canada as a soloist since 2023, most recently for Chateau Windrush, Pianofest 2025, and Vancouver Piano Sessions. In 2024 Theadora was honoured to perform at Carnegie Hall. Always welcoming of community involvement, Theadora enjoys working with children as an elementary piano teacher and her church choir as a collaborative organist.  Theadora’s future goal is to pursue post-secondary music studies for a career in piano performance. Beyond her passion for piano, Theadora’s favourite activities include skiing, long distance running, and enjoying the world’s best classical music.

Priscilla Han is 14 years old, and began piano lessons when she was 5 years old. She is currently working on her ARCT performer diploma with RCM. Priscilla is the recipient of many awards and scholarships in local music festivals including Barrie Kiwanis Music Festival and South Simcoe Arts Council Music Festival, and was chosen many years in a row to represent local music festivals at OMFA, where she was awarded several honourable mentions. In 2022, Priscilla entered the RCM “Music Lights the Way” Piano Competition hosted across North America and was chosen as one of the semi-finalists in Level 9 Piano. She performed in a masterclass at the Golandsky Institute which was streamed worldwide. She is the collaborative pianist for the Sonshine Choir at Heritage Baptist Church, Barrie; she also plays piano in the worship team at her school and the Chinese Community Church in Barrie. In her spare time, Priscilla likes reading, baking, skiing, and swimming. She also enjoys going on road trips and vacations with her family.

Cadence Brassard, 16, from Blue Mountain, has a diverse musical background. She has attended the Curtis Institute of Music’s Summer Organ Intensive, performing on the Wanamaker Organ under Professor Alan Morrison and Peter Richard Conte, and recently played at the organ at the Montreal Symphony with Professor Jean-Baptiste Robin. Cadence currently studies with Manuel Piazza, Professor Isabelle Demers, and Dr. Su Jeon Higuera, and holds a scholarship from the American Theatre Organ Society to study with Jelani Eddington. Formerly an organ scholar at Rosedale United Church under Dr. Sarah Svendsen, Cadence’s highlights include performances at Metropolitan United Church’s Phantoms of the Organ, TVOKids’ Backyard Beats, RCCO’s FutureStops Festival at Roy Thomson Hall, and the RCCO’s Organist Launchpad video series. Her goal is to collaborate more with ensembles and to make the organ more accessible to younger generations. Cadence greatly enjoys teaching her young keyboard enthusiast students at her small organ and piano studio.

Canadian soprano Adrianne Pieczonka has appeared on the world’s leading opera and concert stages for 35 years. A native of Burlington Ontario, Adrianne moved to Vienna after completing her voice training in Canada. She has sung at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, La Scala in Milan and has appeared in more than 10 productions at the Canadian Opera Company.

Her signature roles include Tosca, Ariadne, Sieglinde (Die Walküre) and The Marschallin (Der Rosenkavalier). Adrianne won a Juno for her 2010 Puccini Aria CD and she is an Officer of the Order of Canada. She is the recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal and was named “Kammersängerin” by the Austrian Government in 2007. Since 2019, Adrianne has been Chair in Voice at the Glenn Gould School, Royal Conservatory of Music, where she teaches and mentors the next generation of singers.

Tom Strnad is a honours graduate of York University’s Film & Video Program with a specialization in Production with over 20 years of filmmaking experience. Tom’s films have screened around the world including festival premieres at SXSW, TIFF, VIFF, FIPA and CINEQUEST. Tom is a recipient of funding and grants from Telefilm Canada, Ontario Creates, Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council and the National Film Board of Canada. Tom is a lead digital strategist for the South Georgian Bay Media Association Inc. and actively teaches digital media arts throughout his home region of Grey County, Ontario.

Described as having “scintillating technique” (Barrie Examiner), Canadian pianist Benjamin Smith holds degrees from Juilliard, the Glenn Gould School, the University of Toronto, and Stony Brook University. He has performed across North America, including as soloist in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, and with Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue in Carnegie Hall alongside the Hart House Orchestra. Other concerto appearances include the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra, the Las Vegas Young Artists Orchestra, the Ontario Philharmonic, Orchestra London, the Burlington Symphony, and the Windsor Symphony. With much time devoted to chamber music, he has partnered in recital with numerous world-renowned instrumentalists, string quartets, and ensembles, and currently plays as a member of the Andromeda piano trio. Dr. Smith resides in Toronto, where he maintains a concert schedule while serving on the faculties of the Glenn Gould School and the Taylor Young Artist Academy. Previously he held a position on the piano faculty at Western University. He has been heard nationally on CBC Music, as well as radio broadcasts in the UK, and appears on several commercial recordings.

Murasaki Matsutani is a ten years old pianist, born in Tokyo, Japan, and moved to Canada at age of two. She is currently studying the piano with Michael Berkovsky and composition with Eugene Astapov at the Taylor Academy.

She was awarded the 2nd prize at the inaugural Nashville International Chopin competition in November 2023. She was awarded the 2nd prize in under 12 years old category at the 3rd Jeune Chopin international competition held in Switzerland, in January 2023. 

She was invited to play at the concerts in Lausanne in August 2023 where she had an honour to play alongside Martha Argerich. She was invited to play a piano concerto as a featured soloist with Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra.

Aidan Zhou, born in Toronto in October 2012, began his music studies at 4. Aidan won the 1st Prize of the Junior Division of the Sixth Canadian Chopin Piano Competition in January 2025. He has also won the 1st prizes in the 25th Santa Cecilia International Competition (Porto); 1st prize in the Canadian Music Competition; Winner in the Vladimir Krainev Moscow International Piano Competition; 1st prizes in the Unionville Music Competition; and Gold Prize in Music and Stars Awards. As a young composer, Aidan has written over twenty works in various forms and has a YouTube channel where he shares his performances and music with others. Lately, Aidan has completed his firs orchestral work “The Portrait of Dorian Gray”.
