Dear Friends and Patrons of the Collingwood Summer Music Festival:

Given the rapid spread of COVID-19, we understand the concern for how the virus might impact the Collingwood Summer Music Festival scheduled for July 10-16, 2020. Alas, we have decided to postpone this year’s festival and look forward to welcoming you back in the Summer of 2021.

COVID-19

Dear Friends and Patrons of the Collingwood Summer Music Festival:

Given the rapid spread of COVID-19, we understand the concern for how the virus might impact the Collingwood Summer Music Festival scheduled for July 10-16, 2020. Alas, we have decided to postpone this year’s festival and look forward to welcoming you back in the Summer of 2021.

COVID-19

Maintaining the health of our community is an absolute top priority. We are actively monitoring and complying with all reports released by public health authorities in Canada as well as experts in epidemiology and virology. All board meetings have been cancelled at the moment and our entire staff and team of dedicated volunteers are working from home.

This has been a particularly challenging time for arts organizations across the world. As a non-profit organization, our income derives from ticket sales and the gracious support of our donors and sponsors.

If you are able to make a donation, it will ensure that we have all the necessary resources available to kickoff our second season next year.

We have all witnessed first-hand just how powerfully-transforming and transcendental the experience of a live music event can be while improving our well-being, the social cohesion of our community and uplifting our spirits. On that cheerful tone, here is a YouTube clip of my performance of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” at the Warsaw Philharmonic from 2017:

I am also streaming a series of matinee concerts from home each Saturday at 3 pm Eastern for the next 3 weeks and welcome you to join me:

Thank you for continuing to be a part of our musical family. We ask for your patience and understanding, as we look into every possible means of continuing our mission – to provide top-notch, unforgettable, live music experiences in Collingwood.

We look forward to welcoming you once again at our wonderful auditorium in New Life Church, which will be a tour de force, bristling with music, laughter and emotion next summer.

As we wait for this turbulent episode to pass, please stay home and stay safe.
