Join us for our first fundraising event of the season! Enjoy delectable, sumptuous finger foods, boutique wine and tranquil surroundings of the 14-acre MacLean property. Soulful music, culinary art and the soothing sounds of nature combined in one. Includes a live, outdoor piano recital with the music of Frederic Chopin on a recently-restored, vintage Steinway grand piano.
In light of the latest restrictions on outdoor gatherings, we have transformed our family day – Sunday, July 11th into something even greater and grander, including a variety of activities that can be enjoyed by families and youth of all ages.
The morning features free musical activities for preschoolers taking place outdoors on the lawn. The afternoon features Collingwood’s very own folk/rock ensemble Shipyard Kitchen Party and the iconic folk singer Jerry Gray, who will lead the drive-in audience in a sing-a-long version of “This Land Is Your Land.” In the evening, we are screening the award-winning documentary “Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked The World.”
[Edit July 1st: Due to a technical issue the afternoon event has been postponed to a later date TBD]
The County of Simcoe has approved partnership funding from the 2021 County of Simcoe Tourism, Culture and Sport Grant in the amount of $10,000.00 for expenses related to live-streaming and projection of 2021 Collingwood Summer Music Festival events. We have also received support from RTO7 for digital promotion on our social media channels.
Thank you for your wonderful support in our activities!
As we have just officially entered Step 1 of Ontario’s “Roadmap to Reopen” plan, we are happy to extend our early-bird rates all the way to Canada Day – July 1st, giving you more time to decide upon how you would like to join us this summer. Remember, you can join us both virtually from your living room or at the drive-in, via a 900 square-foot screen!
Reminder: All tickets must be purchased prior to each performance. We will not have any box office facilities available at the entry gate. Tickets can be easily purchased online at collingwoodfestival.com or by phone at (705) 300-2405.
We are excited to announce another FOUR events for the month of June. Presenting the SUMMER SOLSTICE SERIES!
These four virtual events are designed to celebrate the summer solstice, also known as the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and the rejuvenating start of a new season. Our Artistic Director performs two solo piano recitals and invites two very special guests to join him on an unforgettable musical journey – the distinguished musicologist, Dr. Alan Walker and renowned Canadian stage actor, R.H. Thomson.
We are excited to announce a new, drive-in experience for this summer.
Get ready for live music events larger than life….literally!
All our evening concerts will be projected LIVE onto a massive 40-ft wide, 3-storeys high outdoor screen positioned at New Life Church’s spacious parking lot – accommodating up to 200 cars in one evening!
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
We’ve shifted all concert start times to 8:30pm, since the projector works best after sundown.
Each drive-in ticket also comes with a complimentary virtual pass, giving you access to our digital archive following each event.
We’re extending the early-bird rates for all tickets to June 14!
Hear is what our Artistic Director, Daniel Vnukowski has to say:
“We’re very excited about the new drive-in concept for this summer. We greatly support the Unison Benevolent Fund’s cause to support those artists currently facing extreme hardships as a result of the pandemic and want this summer to be an unforgettable experience for anyone who attends. The screen size is literally larger than life at 3-storeys high and the sound quality is crystal-clear with high-fidelity stereo.”
We’ll be reaching out to everyone who already purchased a digital ticket with the opportunity to upgrade to a drive-in ticket.
Join our Artistic Director on Wednesday, April 21 for a free livestream to celebrate the strength and resilience of Collingwood’s arts scene.
Daniel Vnukowski performs the music of Tchaikovsky and invites four special guests – Claudia Ferraro, Geoffrey James, Tjalling Halbertsma and Anke Lex, to join him on a fun-filled evening of music-making, poetry, painting, sculpting and photography – including a rare look at the artists’ studios from behind the scenes!
The Collingwood Summer Music Festival has been awarded a grant by the Canada Heritage Fund, whose objective is to give Canadians access to a variety of professional artistic experiences in their communities.
We proudly acknowledge that our 2021 summer festival activities have been funded in part by the Government of Canada.
