The 2nd Annual JULY in JANUARY, a FREE online ALL-Canadian classical and contemporary music festival is LIVE!
Collingwood Music Festival is proud to be invited back for a second run in this wonderful series.
On this chilly winter’s day, Classical Music Festivals Canada warmly welcomes you to join us for our 2nd Annual “JULY in JANUARY” online video chamber music festival. No registration is needed and it’s FREE! For 2023’s offerings, simply visit our website www.classicalmusicfestivals.ca to enjoy a diverse array of stunning classical and contemporary music performances from our 11 member festivals, alongside conversations between the artistic directors and host Eric Friesen.
This year it has truly grown into a ‘Cross-Canada’ organization with concerts from new festival members hailing from the provinces of Manitoba, Newfoundland, and Quebec – interspersed with your favourite Ontario summer festivals. The concerts are available 24/7 until February 28th. Our hope is that music, as always, will bring us together during the coldest, most isolating months of the year.
Our video contribution showcases the late Maestro Boris Brott’s former performance at our festival, showing his youthful charisma and unwavering commitment to spreading the joy of classical music. We are also proud to feature Dr. Duke Redbird along with six other superbly talented Indigenous artists, which we hope will help to better understand and appreciate the art of truth and reconciliation.
