Taras Petryk is a 17-year-old self-taught pianist from Mono, Ontario with a passion for composing. Inspired by creative artists such as Joep Beving and Hania Rani, his debut album, “My Mother Is an Ocean”, explores the element of water and its connection to physical and emotional landscapes. Taras has a soulful appreciation for solitude, writing, and travelling the world. Many of his original compositions have taken shape while hiking the Bruce Trail. He will be studying composition at university in the fall.
