Isabel Misquitta-Yip is currently a student in the Bachelor of Education program at York
University, having recently completed her bachelor’s degree in music in the studio of Katherine
Dowling. She has studied with acclaimed Canadian concert pianists Michael Berkovsky, Andre
Laplante, and Christina Petrowska-Quilico. She has been a featured young artist in concerts at
the Orford Music Festival, Tuckamore Music Festival, the Brampton Chamber Music Concert
Series, and the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association music festival. She is a recipient
of the Ron Weinberg Memorial Scholarship, The Spedding Memorial Scholarship, Thomas W.

recipient of the Gold Medal from the Royal Conservatory of Music for having twice achieved the
highest exam marks in all of Ontario and Quebec. Isabel has also appeared as a soloist with
notable Canadian ensembles such as the York University Symphony Orchestra, the Rouge River
Winds, the York Region Symphony Orchestra, and the Milton Philharmonic.
In addition to her solo appearances, Isabel is an active chamber musician and is regularly
featured in various concerts in the Toronto area. A passionate advocate for artistic outreach,
Isabel founded the Dynamic Centre for Education, a charity with a mission to provide
educational opportunities in the creative arts for youth in marginalized communities. She has
co-created music education programs for students across Canada, Cambodia, and the Philippines.
Through the Dynamic Centre for Education, Isabel developed a series of fundraiser concerts
called “The Stories We Keep”, centralizing the music of underrepresented composers in the
classical and chamber music repertoire while raising funds to support arts education programs
for Canadian youth.
