Guy Few

VIRTUSO

Guy Few’s musical journey is one of fearless versatility, technical brilliance, and deep artistic commitment. Whether commanding the stage as a trumpet virtuoso, captivating audiences at the piano, or exploring the rich sonorities of the corno da caccia, Guy brings an unparalleled energy to every performance. His artistry has been hailed as “outrageous… simply phenomenal” (Le Devoir) and “sheer brilliance” (L.A. Times), and he continues to leave audiences in awe with his effortless virtuosity and magnetic stage presence.

A celebrated soloist, chamber musician, and recording artist, Guy has performed with renowned ensembles such as the Penderecki, Amati, and Amici string quartets and has collaborated with Leslie Fagan, Stephanie Mara, and Mark Fewer. His passion for both classical and contemporary repertoire has led him to premiere works by composers like Lussier and Buhr, while his mastery of the Baroque trumpet has been described as “wild and joyous.” (Press Democrat, USA). A JUNO-nominated artist and recipient of the CAPACOA Touring Artist of the Year and Sylva Gelber Foundation Award, he has appeared on CBC-TV, CTV, BRAVO, TV5, and NPR, bringing his music to audiences worldwide.

Beyond his life as a performer, Guy is a dedicated educator and speaker. His personal journey—shaped by two brain surgeries for Cavernous Hemangioma and the resulting memory challenges—has inspired audiences beyond the concert hall. His keynote speeches, featured on CBC, NPR, and Global TV, explore resilience, stage fright, and the power of meditation. Through his talk “Mokuso,” he shares insights on focus and overcoming adversity, drawing from both his own experiences and his deep connection to music.
