
Diane Leah

Diane Leah is an experienced pianist, composer/arranger, educator, and music director with credits spanning 40 years in Canadian music. As a young musician, she founded the jazz vocal group Cloudburst before serving as music director for Catherine McKinnon and Don Harron from 1983 to 2000. From 1999 until 2019, Diane was the Director of Music for the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto. Her original compositions helped grow its choir into an acclaimed ensemble that performed at major events, including the Celebration of Life for Jack Layton. Upon her retirement, the City of Toronto recognized her with a scroll for her “leadership and dedication.” Since 2011, Diane has been the music director for Broadsway, featuring Julie Michels and Heather Bambrick. Her theatre credits include Beauty and The Beast (YPT) and We Will Rock You (Mirvish). She was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award for A Year with Frog and Toad and received the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013. Diane has collaborated with a vast array of artists, including Jackie Richardson, Thom Allison, and Micah Barnes. As the long-time music director for Tony Award–nominee Louise Pitre, she has performed across North America and collaborated on the album La Vie en Rouge. As an educator, Diane has worked with aspiring actors at Toronto’s Randolph Academy since 2001.
