ENSEMBLE
Canadian Brass is one of the world’s most renowned brass ensembles, celebrated for their musical excellence, showmanship, and ability to connect with audiences. Founded in 1970 by Chuck Daellenbach and Gene Watts, the group redefined the brass quintet, blending technical mastery with an engaging stage presence. From Baroque and Dixieland to jazz and contemporary works, their diverse repertoire has helped bring brass music to a global audience.
With over 130 albums and millions of records sold, Canadian Brass continues to top the Billboard Classical Chart and has received multiple Grammy and Juno Awards. They have toured extensively across North America, Europe, Asia, and beyond, performing in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and even breaking new ground as the first Western brass group to play in China. They have appeared on major television programs, including The Tonight Show, Sesame Street, and PBS specials, and collaborated with symphony orchestras worldwide.
Education is central to their mission. They have led masterclasses around the world, served as Quintet-in-Residence at the Music Academy of the West, and developed a summer course at the Eastman School of Music. Their collaboration with Hal Leonard has made their extensive brass library accessible to musicians of all levels.
With over five decades of innovation, Canadian Brass remains at the forefront of the brass world. Their performances blend virtuosity, humor, and entertainment, ensuring that brass music continues to inspire and delight audiences everywhere.
