Cadence Brassard

Cadence Brassard is a 15 year old organist living in Blue Mountains, ON. Showing an early, and varied interest in all music, she has played piano, classical guitar and drums.

Inspired by a meeting with Cameron Carpenter and playing the International Touring Organ, Cadence was captivated by the infinite possibilities afforded by the instrument. Cadence currently studies the organ with Dr. Sarah Svendsen, Manuel Piazza and Jelani Eddington, and is the Organ Scholar at Rosedale United Church.

Career highlights so far include performing on the Metropolitan United Pipe Organ for the church’s annual Phantoms of the Organ concert, recording an episode of Backyard Beats featuring the organ for TVOKids with Rashaan Allwood, performing at the RCCO’s FutureStops conference, as well as taking part in a masterclass episode of the RCCO’s Organist Launchpad program (available on YouTube).

Cadence has had wonderful touring and pedagogical opportunities, including, participating in the Curtis Institute of Music’s Summer Organ Intensive, where she studied under Professor Alan Morrison and Peter Richard Conte, culminating in a performance on the Wanamaker Organ. A highlight of a summer of organ intensives was the American Theatre Organ Society’s Summer Youth Adventure in Seattle.

Cadence’s future aspirations include working more with ensembles, and making the organ more accessible and inclusive for young people.

When not at the organ, Cadence enjoys writing novels and spending time with her ponies and her rescued northern dog.
